What we do

Up Down & Around provides internal moving and labor help — moving items up, down, and around within a property — across the counties around Atlanta.

Bookings are requests

Choosing a day and window on this site reserves a spot but is not a confirmed booking. Your job is confirmed only when we contact you and agree the time. We may need to decline or suggest another time — for example if a window fills up, the job is outside our area, or it’s not something we can safely do.

Quotes & pricing

Quotes are based on the description, photos and videos you provide, and are fixed for the job as described — including any stairs, access or difficulty you showed us. If, when the crew arrives, the job is materially different from what you told us — for example significantly more items, difficult access, or hazards not disclosed — we may revise the price, but only after talking it through with you and getting your agreement before any work begins. You’re free to decline a revised price and reschedule or cancel at no charge. We don’t add fees on arrival for stairs, difficulty or equipment that were part of your description.

Payment

There’s no deposit— you pay when the job is finished and you’re happy with it. We accept Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or card. Venmo, Cash App and Zelle are free to you. Because our card processor charges us a fee to accept any card, a card surcharge of up to 3% — never more than it costs us to process the payment — is added to the total when you choose to pay by Credit Card or Debit Card. You’ll always be told the surcharge before you pay, and it is shown as a separate line on your receipt. There is no surcharge on Venmo, Cash App or Zelle.

Senior discount

Seniors aged 65 or over receive 10% off, applied on the day of the job on presentation of a valid photo ID as proof of age. It is not applied online.

Where we work

We operate across the Atlanta metro area — Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, Pickens, Gwinnett, Forsyth and DeKalb counties, plus North Fulton and Buckhead — and cannot take jobs out of state. Addresses outside our core area may be declined.

Notice, rescheduling & cancellations

Standard bookings ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. If you need a job sooner than that, our Priority option may be available for a 50% surcharge on the normal quoted price, subject to availability.

You can reschedule or cancel free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice (a text or email counts). If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your booked window, a $25 late-cancellation feeapplies. If no one 18 or older is there at the booked time and we can’t reach you (a no-show), the same $25 applies for the time we held. We hold that time slot for you and turn other work away to keep it, so a last-minute change means that time usually can’t be filled.

On our side, we may occasionally need to reschedule, move or cancel a job — for weather, a prior job running long, or a safety reason — including within the 24-hour window. If that happens there is no charge to you, and we’ll get you the first opening that works.

Your responsibilities

Please make sure someone 18 or older is present, that paths are reasonably clear, and that especially fragile or high-value items are pointed out to us (or moved by you) in advance. Tell us about anything that affects safe access.

How we handle damage

We take real care with your things — blankets, straps and floor and doorway protection on every job — and in 30+ years, damage is rare. If something is damaged and it’s our fault, tell us and we’ll work with you to put it right. Please let us know as soon as you can — ideally within a few days, and with a photo where you can — so we can come and take a look while everything’s fresh and sort it out quickly. The sections below are the legal backstop and the limits of what we can be responsible for — not how we prefer to do business.

Insurance

Up Down & Around carries public-liability insurance, which covers third-party injury or property damage we’re responsible for while working. A certificate is available on request. Like most labor-only movers, this is not cargo or goods-in-transit insurance — it does not act as a separate insurance policy on your items themselves. For especially valuable or fragile items, please point them out in advance so we can take extra care (and you may wish to arrange your own cover).

Liability

Please read — limit of liability

We take care with your things, but to the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any single job is limited to the amount you paid for that job.We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, items you asked us not to move, or issues you didn’t tell us about. This limit does not apply to anything that can’t be limited by law — including our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest still applies. Nothing here removes rights you have under Georgia consumer law.

Reporting a problem & time limits

If something isn’t right, please tell us within 7 daysof the job, with photos where you can, so we can look while everything’s fresh and put it right. To the fullest extent allowed by law, any claim or legal action relating to a job must be started within 12 monthsof that job. These limits don’t remove rights you have under Georgia law.

Electronic records & signatures

When you accept a quote or booking online — for example by tapping “Accept” and typing your name — you agree to do business electronically, and that your electronic acceptance (with the date, time and your typed name) is your signature and forms a binding agreement for the price and the job described. You can ask us for a copy at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version and effective date shown at the top reflect the current version, and the terms that apply to your job are the ones in effect (and shown to you) when you book or accept your quote.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
